Off the Beaten Path…..
OK OK I know that this is suppose to be a blog about my female perspective on the sports world, but I am going to take this time to write about another matter.
Close friends are like a great pair of shoes: they come into your life after a careful process of elimination, you wear (bring) them to all the finest and most important events in your life and they always make you seem to feel that much better about yourself after you put them on!
In this case that close friend goes by the name of Rachelle Beaudoin. Rachelle was born and raised in Berlin New Hampshire and when she came to the Berlin public school system from Catholic school our bond would be sealed. She truly is a superb human being and a jack of all trades. Her latest adventure involves a production of epic proportions. She has edited and illustrated her very own dictionary.
With help from her family and loved ones as well as the surrounding community, The Berlin Dictionary has come to life! You may be wondering what is so great about Berlin (BUR-lin) NH. Well let me tell you that it is the largest city in Northern NH along the banks of the Androscoggin River and was formerly the center of the pulp and paper industry of New England. Oh and not to mention the likes of myself and Chelle as well as many other greats have come out of this town!
I really wanted to bring attention to this dictionary because I think that it was done with a lot of love and consideration and I know that when I received my copy down here in Miami I was instantly brought back to the place that I spent 18 great years of my life. Oh and it just reminds you that no matter where you go and what you become a piece of you will always be about where you came from and those things can never be forgotten.
So in closing, thank you Chelle for producing a great piece of work that I will have forever and that in years to come(many) my kids will have a book to read and know exactly where there mom has come from!
