Is this really anything new with Iverson?
So Allen Iverson has had his one year contract with the Memphis Grizzles ripped to shreds.
This really comes as no surprise considering he took a leave of absence on November 7th after having only played three games for the club. The general manager for the grizzles said that Iverson has decided to step away from the game at this time, but really has he just stepped away from this particular team?
Let’s face it, Iverson is now being considered a thirty four year old has been. He doesn’t want to play second fiddle to the likes of Rudy Gay and OJ Mayo. So now he thinks the grass may be greener on the other side or at least with another team.
I think that the time has come for AI to do some heavy soul searching about what he wants out of the rest of his playing career. After missing the entire pre-season with a partially torn left hamstring, what did he really expect to happen in Memphis?
Sure he is a four time NBA scoring champ and the 16th player in league history to score 24,000 points but now is credibility is in question. Who am I kidding; his credibility has been in question for quite some time now. It just seems that the Grizzles simply were sick and tired of Iverson and his antics.
They certainly have wasted no time in signing Jamaal Tinsley to help their 2-8 record. But who is going want to go to bat for AI?
The Knicks have expressed an interest in signing the former all-star and if this is the case then let’s start making the preparations for what should be inscribed into the headstone.
Cause most careers go to New York to die.
