Best Time of the Year!

Ah yes it is time for some college basketball! This is the time of year where your Saturday afternoons are taken away, ACC Sunday night games trump desperate housewives and you can’t wait til you can fill in your bracket come March! I don’t know if it is something in the air but the feeling of having a college game to watch excites me more then Christmas morning. Now don’t get me wrong I do enjoy the NBA but college basketball is where the pride is. Most fans have one team that they cheer for and friendships can cease to exist for 4 months over rivalries. These guys are out... [Read the full story]

I decided last night that I was in need of a good chuckle, so I attended a Florida Panthers game. Now word on the street was that they were not that great so I had absolutely no expectations at all going into this. I secured myself a fifth row ticket in an attempt to see firsthand why people had given the Panthers a bad rap. Come to find out people had been spreading the wrong word. Ok ok, so it did lack a little luster and I could only imagine what it would have been if it was not for the Pittsburgh Penguins being in town but it did have some fun moments. With the attendance hovering around... [Read the full story]

Could it really be possible that Tracy McGrady could start in the all-star game? Of course it’s a possibility and is quickly becoming a reality but come on lets be serious! He hasn’t even played a game this season and sure he is close to making a return from a microfracture knee surgery but I am going to lobby to my nearest senator that he not be allowed to even put a sneaker on that weekend. Let’s give that spot to another player that has PLAYED a game this season and is showing all-star talent. Now that I think about it, it’s the western conference so go right ahead and do what you want... [Read the full story]

Poking around Poker

A good friend of mine who shall remain nameless (Wayne) has currently fallen into the wonderful world of Poker. Now, I am going to go on the record and say that I don’t consider this to be an official sport of any kind but more of a pastime for some. Anyway you may be wondering why I would be writing about this subject as it does not fall into my category of sporting news, well here goes. I know diddly squat about poker or any of the other card games that may be associated with it. But in a fair attempt, I am going to do some research and maybe head to a casino to try my hand at this ever... [Read the full story]

As some of you may be aware, football is not a priority of mine. European football, yes, American football, no. But seeing as though this is the season of giving and cheer I am going to take this time to give a shout out to the Patriots. Now, you may be thinking I am going to talk about how they had an ugly win against...
